Τα γοητευτικά δρομάκια και οι κομψές γέφυρες της γαλλικής πρωτεύουσας γέμισαν με νερό που ξεχείλισε από τον Σηκουάνα και έδωσε στην πόλη μία εντελώς διαφορετική, πολύ πιο σκοτεινή εικόνα. Πολλοί φωτογράφοι και τουρίστες έσπευσαν να καταγράψουν με τις φωτογραφικές τους μηχανές το σπάνιο αυτό φαινόμενο, που δημιούργησε μία σειρά από κινηματογραφικές εικόνες στο κέντρο της Ευρώπης. Το νερό επιβλήθηκε με τη δύναμη του στα διάσημα παριζιάνικα αξιοθέατα, άλλαξε το τοπίο της πόλης, ενώ τα πιο μεγάλα μουσεία έκλεισαν προσωρινά μέχρι να αποκατασταθεί ο κίνδυνος.
