Applications for Specialist Training under the MMC regime (UK)

I know there is a whole section on specialization in the UK, but I believe the application process in itself merits a topic of its own for those getting ready to enter ST-training (or even FY, even though it’s too late for that round now)

Personally I’ve been plagued by horrific nightmares and various somatic complaints the closer we get to the application opening date. (22 Jan-4 Feb)

All Greeks trying to complete this on-line application face similar problems such as:

1) How to document previous experience in Greece so that it counts/ doesn’t count towards acquisition of required competencies. This is essential in order to avoid having our application rejected on grounds of applying for the wrong ST level

2) Getting our stories right so that we get at least one point for each answer, and not overshoot or miss the mark (according to English standards)

3) Chose which deaneries to apply for

4) Need or not for IELTS

5) Assuming we do get an interview.., prepare a portfolio that’s worth a dime

I’m willing to share any info I have and I hope others feel the same way.
