Μια χαρά ΕΚΠΑΙΔΕΥΤΙΚΕΣ θεσεις ειναι. Απλα πολύ δύσκολα πιστεύω ότι κάποιος έξω από Αγγλία, χωρίς Foundation Year μπορεί να τις διεκδικήσει με αξιώσεις.

Ειδικά τις χειρουργικές.

I repeat...they are trust grade jobs, not training jobs.

(a simple search in this very thread will unearth a previous in depth discussion regarding the merits, and place in the NHS job hierarchy of such a post)

I’m not in the business of offering false hope and bogus opportunities (and I don’t claim to have any connections with Severn deanery or private interests in getting these posts filled).‘24 m previous experience in the specialty you are applying for’ is listed as an essential criterion. Thus, my assumption that it’s a great opportunity for somebody who wants to see the world, in between having completed his basic training in Greece and before their time comes for their main speciality training.

Me thinks such a job is fair game for all….if they are recruiting in India, and even planning to hold interviews in Delhi (!) they must be desperate.

Substantive posts are hard to get....but these jobs were trust grade jobs.Believe it or not there is actually a great shortage for locums/staff grades these days.

Of course just 'coz one happens to be available it doesn't always mean that they are 'appointable' but it sure don't hurt to try.And if at first you don't succeed...you may wanna reconsider your options.

1) IELTS δε χρειάζεται (αλλά πρέπει να ξέρεις καλά αγγλικά). Κάνει το Proficiency για την αίτηση, απλά στο interview πρέπει να μιλάς και να καταλαβαίνεις τους Άγγλους. Αν σκεφτεί κανείς τα αγγλικά των ινδοπακιστανών εδώ, μια χαρά θα'σαι.

2) F1

3) Μόνο και μόνο για application και interview training/practice, αξίζει να δηλώσεις. Το αν θα σε πάρουν είναι άλλο ζήτημα, αλλά δεν το θεωρώ καθόλου απίθανο.

4) Χωρίς να είμαι 100% σίγουρος, νομίζω ότι όλες αυτές οι αιτήσεις είναι ανεξάρτητες και κανένας δεν ξέρει πού αλλού έχεις κάνει αίτηση.

5) Ρε εδώ σκέφτονται να κάνουν 3 χρόνια το Foundation, θα μειώσουν τις θέσεις; Καλά, Άγγλοι είναι, όλα είναι πιθανά, αλλά...

Τελικά είχε δίκιο η Wicked Witch.

Πιο συγκεκριμένα. Το ICAM ήταν συνήθως για εκπαιδευτικές θέσεις. Αφού ΚΑΤΑΝΤΗΣΑΝ να βγάζουν τραστ θέσεις σημαίνει ότι όντως είναι απελπισμένοι!

Α! Λόγω της EWDT θα βγουν πολλές trust sho + trust registrar θέσεις.

Ειδικά στις χειρουργικές ειδικότητες μία θεσούλα trust registrar έστω και για 1 χρόνο θεωρώ ότι είναι πολύτιμη για έναν Ελληνα.

Ειδικά από το καλοκαίρι όποιος Έλληνας κάθεται στην Ελλάδα και περιμένει για Γ Χειρουργική - Παθολογία γενικό μέρος μάλλον θα πρέπει να το ξανασκεφτεί αφού ΠΟΛΥ ευκολα θα βρει μια θεσούλα ΤΟΥΛΑΧΙΣΤΟΝ τραστ στην Αγγλία και θα την αναγνωρίσει.

Για να σε κρίνουν eligible λέει για foundation τυπικά ζητάνε IELTS, το CPE δεν τους κάνει; παλιά επί MTAS τους έκανε. Αν τους το στείλω αργότερα;

Προ 7ετίας είναι λίγο παλιά...

...θα πρότεινα να τους την σπάσεις και να δώσεις TOEFL που είναι και πιο φτηνό, και έχει συνέχεια εξετάσεις

1. I would not advice anyone to do FY1. You will just be a ward slave. Greek graduates are more than capable to start with FY2. Plus, you feel so much better when you have someone more junior than you to give orders and instructions.

2. It doesnt matter what degree you have in order to demonstrate your competencies in English. They will speak to you during the interview. I had an old proficiency and a recent TOEFL - no IELTS.

3. I think anyone who wants a job in the UK should grab the chance now. They are thinking to "modify" EWTD, especially in surgery. Therefore, they may not advertise so many jobs from August.

What does EWTD mean?I am interested in General Surgery and I would like to ask you how difficult it is to find a training post in this field in the UK.

EWTD=European Working Time Directive (η Οδηγία για το 48ωρο ντε).

Για Training σε επίπεδο CT1/CT2 (ή τα αντίστοιχα FTSTA) δεν είναι ακατόρθωτο κατευθείαν από Ελλάδα (είναι όμως αρκετά δύσκολο). Για ST3 (που είναι η αρχή του run-through ως ST8 που τελειώνει η ειδικότητα) χρειάζεσαι MRCS, εμπειρία στην Αγγλία και τα Courses τους (BSS, CCrISP κλπ). Δεν ξέρω κανέναν που να βρήκε τέτοια θέση κατευθείαν από Ελλάδα (για την ακρίβεια, κανέναν που να τον έκαναν shortlist σε interview για τέτοια θέση).
